“THE THREE-BODY PROBLEM”
Part One of The Remembrance of Earth's Past Trilogy.

Have you ever heard of the Fermi Paradox? It is a question posed by the famed physicist Enrico Fermi during a discussion about the possibility of extraterrestrial life. It revolves around the apparent contradiction between the high probability of the existence of intelligent alien civilizations in our galaxy and the lack of any evidence, such as sightings, encounters, or communication, of such civilizations. In Chinese author Liu Caixin’s novel “The Three-Body Problem,” the Fermi Paradox is a central theme and plays a significant role in the plot and character interactions. The story explores why humanity has not yet encountered advanced intelligent life out in space despite its vastness and the potential of other intelligent beings. As the reader, we get to explore the concept of first contact with an alien civilization and the challenges it may present.
